Download BioMelanie Brill has been practicing commercial real estate law for over 25 years and handles all types of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. She represents developers, investors, lenders and users of commercial real estate in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of shopping centers, office buildings, mixed-use projects, resort properties and single-occupancy structures. Melanie has extensive experience in the area of retail development and shopping center law. Having negotiated and drafted numerous purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, leases (shopping centers, malls, retail, build-to-suit and ground leases) for some of the most prestigious shopping centers in the country, large grocery anchored centers, mixed-use projects and major single tenant projects, she has a deep understanding of the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing issues. Prior to joining Messner Reeves, Melanie served as counsel for a real estate development company in which she drafted, negotiated and reviewed leases with a concentration on retail transactions including grocery-anchored shopping centers and mixed-use projects. Melanie has also drafted and negotiated a multitude of reciprocal easement agreements, operating agreements and developer agreements, and provides clients entering into these types of transactions with a firm understanding of the standards and customs associated with obtaining maximum benefits and protections. Prior to Melanie joining the firm, she worked as Legal Content Manager for a major publishing company in which she developed, drafted and edited legal practice guides and materials the Florida real estate module.
