Before joining Messner Reeves LLP, Scott was an insurance defense attorney for Ranalli Zaniel Fowler & Moran, one of the premier insurance defense firms in Nevada, and a Plaintiffs’ personal injury and workers’ compensation attorney with Edward M. Bernstein & Associates, one of Nevada’s best known and most respected Plaintiff’s firms. Scott’s experience as an advocate for both Plaintiffs and Defendants in injury cases provides him with insight that he is very excited to bring to Messner Reeves’ litigation group.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Utah with a degree in History, Scott attended the University of Oregon School of Law on the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence. While at the University of Oregon, Scott served as the Chair of the law school’s Pro Bono Executive Board. During his third year of law school, Scott worked for the Lane County Public Defender’s Office as a Supreme Court Certified Law Student. In this capacity, Scott won his first jury trial while still in law school. This experience fueled Scott’s passion for trial advocacy.
Scott was born in Lexington, Kentucky and raised primarily in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to his passion for his work, Scott is an avid sports fan, and enjoys traveling, especially to South America. Scott is fluent in Spanish, having spent two years in Chile as a missionary, and two months in Argentina as a law clerk at the Buenos Aires office of a large U.S. based law firm.
