Attorneys Daniel DeLay & Katherine Otto Secure Winning Trial Verdict

Congratulations are in order for our very own Daniel DeLay and Katherine Otto. The two attorneys recently secured a winning trial verdict making this DeLay’s first jury trial and combined win.

The Attorneys & The Case

Otto is a partner at Messner Reeves’ Denver and New York office where she leads the defense of healthcare professionals. Her focus lies in professional malpractice litigation and defense of licensure before state licensing boards. Otto also acts as a consultant for healthcare professionals tackling risk management and employment issues in the healthcare context. Committed to nurturing and educating her team, Otto mentors associates in the Denver and New York offices allowing them to further develop their professional skills and knowledge.

DeLay is an associate at Messner Reeves’ Denver office and has been a practicing attorney with the firm for the past three years. Prior to joining as a full-time employee, DeLay served as an intern through the firm’s diversity program during his first year of law school until the firm extended a job offer after his 1L summer internship based on DeLay’s impressive work, devotion and talent. As an intern, DeLay had the opportunity to work on corporate, arbitration, and litigation matters leading him down the path of becoming a trial attorney. DeLay represents clients in a spectrum of litigation and arbitration matters, with a concentration on the defense of licensed healthcare professionals in malpractice cases or disciplinary matters, commercial disputes, employment matters, and liquor licensing issues.

In this particular case, Otto & DeLay were able to secure a favorable result for their provider client, after being sued for malpractice. The attorneys argued that their client saved the life of the plaintiff and won the trial verdict.
