Trevis G. Busteed
Associate
Trevis G. Busteed is an associate in the New York City office of Messner Reeves, where his practice focuses on labor and employment, litigation, and insurance defense.
Trevis represents clients throughout the litigation process, drawing on experience with employment disputes, automobile accidents, premises liability, labor matters, construction cases, and catastrophic-injury claims. He has handled matters through mediation and arbitration and has experience managing cases from their initial stages through resolution.
Trevis began his legal career representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters before transitioning to defense-side employment and employment discrimination work. He later practiced insurance defense at both regional and national law firms. Most recently, Trevis served as in-house counsel for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where he handled significant litigation, catastrophic-injury matters, and policy-based cases. His varied background provides him with insight into the priorities and challenges facing individual claimants, corporate defendants, insurers, and institutional clients.
Trevis earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2020 and his B.S. in Politics and Government from the University of Hartford in 2016. He has been admitted to practice in New York since 2021.
