Charles Dinegar
Associate
Charles Dinegar is an associate in the Denver office of Messner Reeves LLP, where his practice focuses on corporate, real estate, banking & financial institutions, and retail, restaurant, and hospitality.
A Colorado native, Charles brings a well-rounded perspective to client service, drawing on hands-on experience advising startups, entrepreneurs, and established businesses through his work in the University of Colorado Law School’s Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. There, he served as outside general counsel to six early-stage ventures across sectors such as ed-tech, AI healthcare, and nonprofit, guiding them on incorporation, governance, investment planning, and regulatory issues.
Charles previously clerked for the Honorable Allison H. Eid of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, where he conducted legal research, drafted opinions and case summaries, and gained exposure to complex appellate matters involving water rights, constitutional law, and regulatory disputes. His practical background also includes work in real estate transactions and political campaign strategy, as well as several years managing operations and conservation efforts on a working ranch in Larkspur, Colorado.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School, where he participated in the Transaction and Negotiation Team, Silicon Flatirons, and the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. Charles graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University with a double major in Political Science and History.
Outside of his legal practice, Charles is an active member of the Colorado Lawyers Committee and NAIOP, and he enjoys spending time with his wife as well Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle, basketball, and following local and collegiate sports.
Carleton College (2018-19) in Northfield, MN for one year to play basketball. TCU in Fort Worth, TX (2019-2022) graduated in 2022 with BA double-major in poly sci and history, graduated magna cum laude. Colorado Law (2022-25) in Boulder, CO.
