Jean M. French

Jean French is a partner in the Greenwood Village office of Messner Reeves, where her practice focuses on commercial litigation. She has extensive experience defending complex legal actions related to product liability, premises liability, toxic torts, medical malpractice, subrogation, and civil rights.

Before joining the Messner Reeves team, she represented Fortune 500 companies and worked on commercial litigation claims for an AM 100 law firm. She also taught Advanced Appellate Advocacy at the University of Illinois-Chicago Law School, where she developed course materials and prepared students for successful moot court competitions. She has also served as a Chicago Bar Association Investigator for the Judicial Evaluation Committee and as an arbitrator for Cook County Mandatory Arbitration.

She’s active in the community, having served as a member of the Strategic Planning Team for Pleasantdale School District 107, a mock trial advisor at Lyons Township High School, a participant in the DuPage Rail Task Force to develop and implement railroad safety, a DECA judge at Cherry Creek High School, and a mentor to students at the University of Denver Sturm Law School. Additionally, Jean volunteered with local animal rescue efforts and coached recreational soccer, softball, and t-ball.

Jean received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois – Chicago Law School. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
