Jeffrey R. Finley

Jeffrey R. Finley is a partner with the Phoenix office of Messner Reeves, where his practice focuses on insurance defense, litigation, trial and mediation.

His past case experience covers a wide range of areas, including auto and truck accidents,  premises liability, medical malpractice, legal malpractice; director and officer liability, professional liability for property managers, restaurant claims, sexual abuse claims, discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, slander/libel/employment claims, products liability, coverage issues, and contract disputes.

Throughout his legal career he’s represented a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, large corporations, non-profits, schools, cities, counties, states, and insurance carriers. He has experience as lead counsel in over 40 jury trials on behalf of defendants and plaintiffs and hundreds of mediations and arbitrations.

Before joining the Messner Reeves team, he managed complex claims, employment disputes and healthcare matters at two insurance companies, served as outside litigation counsel for Hartford Insurance, and was a partner with two law firms where he handled litigation and trial matters.

Jeff received his bachelor’s degree in history from Stanford University and earned his juris doctorate from the Arizona State University College of Law. He’s currently licensed to practice in Arizona.

Outside of his legal work, he’s served as a school board member at St. Agnes Catholic Grade School, a Finance Committee Member at St. Agnes Catholic Parish and Ss. Simon and Jude Parish, and as a board member of Maggie’s Place. Currently, he and his wife enjoy biking and hiking and their grandchildren.
