Kenneth S. Kramer
Of Counsel
Kenneth S. Kramer serves as Of Counsel in the Greenwood Village office of Messner Reeves LLP, where his practice focuses on corporate law, real estate matters, and property taxation.
With nearly four decades of legal experience, Ken has advised businesses, property owners, and corporate clients on a broad range of transactional, regulatory, and real estate matters. His practice has included lease negotiations, telecommunications, commercial lending, and commercial property taxation.
Ken currently serves as General Counsel for The Cigarette Store LLC, where he advises the company on its multi-state convenience store operations and property management portfolio, including leasing administration. He also leads the company’s acquisition team and has overseen numerous multi-unit acquisitions. In addition, Ken regularly works with state and federal policymakers on issues affecting the convenience store and tobacco retail industries.
Prior to his current role, Ken was a managing member at another firm, where he advised clients on a variety of business and real estate matters. During his tenure, he served as the firm’s representative to the American Property Tax Counsel, a national organization of property tax professionals that advises clients before boards of equalization, assessment appeals bodies, and courts on complex commercial property tax matters.
Ken is actively involved in several national trade organizations, including the National Association of Convenience Stores, the National Association of Tobacco Outlets, the Society of Independent Gas Marketers, the Tobacco Merchants Association, the Cigar Association of America, and the Premium Cigar Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Tobacco Merchants Association and on the Bylaws Committee of the National Association of Tobacco Outlets.
Outside of his legal practice, Ken has devoted significant time to community service and nonprofit leadership. He has served on the boards of several organizations, including the National Ski Patrol, the Jewish Community Center of Denver, and the Colorado Storm Soccer Association, where he was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame. He has also been a member of the Winter Park Volunteer Ski Patrol since 2001.
Ken earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law, where he participated in the school’s Barrister’s Cup Team and Jessup International Law Team. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
