Rachel E. Banks
Associate
Download BioRachel Banks is an associate in the firm’s Litigation group. Prior to joining the firm, Rachel worked as a public defender for five years at The Bronx Defenders. There, she represented over a thousand clients on issues ranging from traffic violations to serious violent felonies. She has successfully litigated numerous jury and bench trials, hearings, and has a wide variety of other litigation experience. At the firm Rachel works defending both criminal cases and licensed healthcare professionals in malpractice cases and disciplinary matters. The main focus in all of her work is providing the most robust defense.
Rachel graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law with both the Public Good Distinction and Order of Coif. During her tenure at the University of Denver she served as a Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, Board Member of the Chancellor Scholarship Board, and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. While in law school, Rachel interned for the Colorado State Public Defender System, The Bronx Defenders, and Still She Rises – Tulsa. Rachel also participated in the Student Trial Lawyer Association and was awarded Best Advocate.
Prior to law school, Rachel was a Teach for America corps member and spent several years teaching Pre-Kindergarten in Baltimore City, where she simultaneously earned her Masters of Science from Johns Hopkins University.
Rachel speaks three languages and in her free time she enjoys traveling, theater, and running.
