Messner Reeves Partner Adam Royval Celebrates Complete Defense Verdict

Messner Reeves LLP is pleased to announce a complete defense win following a weeklong jury trial in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Denver Partner Adam Royval, with Associate Cristina Andrews and paralegal Katherine Martinez tried a highly-complex mold exposure and contamination case in front of a jury and obtained a complete defense verdict for all Messner clients.

The plaintiffs alleged the property they were renting was completely overrun with toxic mold due to a variety of water intrusion and claimed property losses, personal injuries, punitive damages, and attorneys’ fees. The Court allowed the punitive damages to proceed to the jury.

Messner Reeves represented the property owner, the property manager, the developer entities, and one of the principals. Despite difficult facts and a convoluted timeline, Messner Reeves obtained a complete defense verdict for all of its clients on all counts.

Adam Royval is a seasoned litigator and attorney practicing in the Denver and Phoenix offices, and has litigated over 500 cases to completion in front of juries, courts, and arbitrators. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, construction, insurance defense, labor & employment, general litigation, and personal injury.

Cristina Andrews is an Associate in the Denver office, and focuses her practice on litigation and insurance defense, developing and executing detailed litigation strategies for defense of first- and third-party injury and premises liability claims.
