Messner Reeves Partner Simone Montoya Appointed to the Judicial Performance Commission for the 2nd Judicial District

Messner Reeves LLP is honored to announce that Denver Partner Simone Montoya has been appointed by Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Brian Boatwright to the Judicial Performance Commission for the 2nd Judicial District of Colorado.  Simone will serve a minimum four-year term with the commission.

As a commissioner, Simone will play a vital role in evaluating and reviewing the judicial performance of Judges on the Denver District Court Bench and provide the public with valuable information regarding their performance.  The Judicial Performance Commission was established in 1988 to provide voters with fair, responsible, and constructive evaluations of trial and appellate judges and justices seeking retention. Not only does this work help judges improve their professional skills, it provides the public with important information to consider in their decision whether to retain a judge.

As a member of the firm’s litigation practice group, Simone is a recognized trial attorney with over 30 jury trials and numerous bench trials in her experience spanning criminal defense and corporate defense litigation. She represents individuals and corporations in the areas of general liability, professional liability, foodborne illness, criminal defense, and medical negligence.

We are excited for this additional recognition of Simone’s impressive legal career and commitment to public service. Her courtroom experience and legal knowledge will be a definitive asset to the Judicial Performance Commission.
