Successful Defense Verdict in Rear-End Accident Jury Trial Secured by Messner Reeves Las Vegas Litigation Team

Messner Reeves celebrates Las Vegas associate Jason G. Martinez civil trial win after a three-hour jury deliberation in Clark County, Nevada.

Overview

Attorney: Jason G. Martinez

Office: Las Vegas

Venue: Eighth Judicial District Court, Nevada

Congratulations to Las Vegas associate and lead trial counsel Jason G. Martinez on his recent trial win. In this case, a Fortune 500 Company hired Messner Reeves to represent its insured, a young mother, who was sued for millions in damages after a rear-end motor vehicle accident.

The plaintiff claimed damages exceeding $800,000 in past medical expenses and requested a jury verdict of $7 million. After an eight-day trial, the jury deliberated for three hours, ruling in favor of Messner Reeves’s client and awarding the plaintiff zero damages.

After several restrictive rulings by the trial court, including an order striking their primary medical expert, the attorney duo won with a commonsense defense strategy by presenting the case in a simple and straightforward manner to the jury. Using visuals demonstrating the actual severity of the plaintiff’s damages, the jury could clearly see that the motor vehicle accident was minor and didn’t warrant a $7 million payout.

Congrats to Jason, Scott, and the Messner Reeves team, who worked diligently to secure the client the verdict they deserved!
