Client Alert: Applicants can now pay USCIS fees by ACH debit.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has introduced a new payment method that allows individuals to make payments through an electronic debit from a U.S. bank account (ACH debit).

Effective immediately, applicants can initiate transactions directly with USCIS by completing and signing Form G-1650, Authorization for ACH Transactions, and submitting it along with their applications, petitions, or requests. They can also make payment via credit card by completing and signing Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions.

Please note that USCIS will no longer accept checks and money orders starting October 28, 2025.

Important Information for Employers:

  • Review your USCIS fee payment process with the HR and payroll teams to eliminate the use of paper checks and money orders before October 28, 2025.
  • Ensure that there are sufficient funds in any bank account from which USCIS is scheduled to debit fees.
  • For those who do not have a U.S. bank account, be prepared to use a credit card through Form G-1450.
