Messner Reeves Attorneys Speak About Sports Law at EPIC Campus

Messner Reeves LLP Denver Associates Christian Myers and Ben Asser recently spoke to students at the Explorative Pathways for Innovative Careers (EPIC) Campus in Littleton, CO about the intersection of law and sports.

During the interactive talk, Christian and Ben provided real world insights on the legal issues that impact the sports world, from Title IX to NIL to licensing and marketing and everything in between. They also took questions from students on other relevant legal and sports topics, and how attorneys work within the professional and academic sports realm.

The EPIC Campus provides high school students with the opportunity to earn credits and industry certifications, pursue concurrent enrollment, and take advantage of work-based learning to advance their career interests. Students are able to attend classes at the EPIC Campus during a portion of their normal school day and then return to their respective high schools.

Denver Associate Christian Myers focuses on general litigation, entertainment and sports law, business litigation, and healthcare litigation. Within the sports realm, he advises coaches and athletes at both the professional and collegiate levels on a variety of contract issues.

Also in Denver, Associate Benjamin Asser is a member of the Corporate practice group, and has experience with entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. For sports and entertainment clients, he has assisted with local CHSAA disputes, protecting confidential information, and contract negotiations.
