Thanks to the hard work of Vice President of Human Resources Eleanor Deaton, Human Resources Manager Stephanie Del Duca, and our entire Human Resources Department, we have been able to maintain this certification by consistently working to attract and advance attorneys and staff from different backgrounds. We have also demonstrated our commitment to DEI initiatives through mentorship, professional development opportunities, and transparent, open policies.
Mansfield is a year-long structured certification process that ensures all qualified talent at participating law firms has a fair and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership. The Plus certification is an extension of the renowned Mansfield Rule, and recognizes the unique challenges faced by midsize firms. This highest certification level is only achieved after undergoing a rigorous certification process, and is awarded to firms that also achieved the 30 percent representation benchmark in addition to meeting other criteria.
Launched in 2017 as a pilot program with 35+ inaugural U.S. large law firms, and now 365+ firms strong across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., the goal of Mansfield is to boost the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in leadership. The current cohort of participating firms represents 83% of the Am Law 100.
