The case involved a claim that a dentist caused a laceration to the plaintiff’s cheek while performing a Class V restoration. An air syringe was used during preparation for the procedure and the patient developed an air emphysema, and was hospitalized for four days. The plaintiff had asked the jury for $500,000 in damages. The jury ultimately found in favor of the defense.
