Messner Reeves LLP is proud to support the Katie Nues Foundation through a $1,200 contribution to the foundation’s 2024 Charity Golf Tournament, held July 22, 2024 at the Ruby Hills Country Club.
The Katie Nues Foundation was created in 2004 by the parents of Katie Nues, who was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at 17 months old. Rett Syndrome is a genetic neurological disorder that affects motor skills, causing seizures, difficulty swallowing, digestive issues, scoliosis, sleep and breathing issues.
Denver Partner Matthew George attended the event and also happens to be Katie’s uncle. He has been an active supporter of the foundation since its inception.
At the time of Katie’s diagnosis, there were not many easily-accessible options for treatment. The Nues’ experience led them to create Katie’s Clinic for Rett Syndrome at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in California, and the Foundation as a source of funding for the clinic. A member of our Healthcare, Litigation, Medical Malpractice, and Professional Liability practice areas, Matthew George has extensive experience in all phases of civil litigation, and has an impressive record of favorable jury verdicts and appellate decisions for his clients. His creative problem-solving skills and personalized approach provide incredible value to his litigation clients.
