Messner Reeves LLP founding Partner Bryant “Corky” Messner was recently quoted in the Army West Point article: “A Change in Army West Point’s Top Athletic Position Announced; Buddie to TCU; Howard to Serve as Interim.”
As the chair of the Army West Point Athletics Board of Directors, Corky is part of the team mounting a national search to replace outgoing Athletic Director Mike Buddie, who has accepted a new position at Texas Christian University.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Mike Buddie and Traci for their exceptional contributions to West Point and their unwavering commitment to shaping leaders of character,” said Corky. “TCU is fortunate to welcome Mike as their athletic director, as he brings a proven track record of success and a history of positioning organizations for excellence in the ever-evolving landscape of college athletics. We have implemented our succession plan to immediately find a new athletic director.”
As a founding Partner of Messner Reeves, a West Point graduate and US Army Ranger, Corky built the firm into the national full-service law firm it is today. His practice focuses on business counseling, crisis management, corporate governance, and leadership mentoring. In addition to his involvement with the West Point Athletic Association, Corky is also a regular mentor of student-athletes at the academy.
