Of Counsel Jim Randall Celebrates Nearly Two Decades of Hot dog Day at Western State

Messner Reeves LLP Of Counsel James “Jim” Randall was recently featured in an article by Western State College of Law on his nearly two decades of hosting “Hot Dog Day” as a community-bolstering event for tired and hungry law students.

An Army veteran and graduate of Western State, Jim has been hosting Hot Dog Day for over 17 years as a way to give back to the college and community that supported him through the challenges of building a legal career.

“When students come to me and ask for another hot dog, it reminds me of my days as a law student and why I started Hot Dog Day,” says Jim. “Hot Dog Day is my way of giving something back. Being around these students gives me energy. I will keep doing it as long as I can.”

Hot dogs aren’t Jim’s only way of supporting students, he and his wife also established the Book Scholarship, and has watched several recipients go on to pass the bar on their first try. His son William followed in his footsteps, earning his law degree at Western State before going on to become Partner in Messner Reeves’ Orange County office.

Also based out of the Orange County office, Jim focuses his practice on litigation and is a frequent lecturer and author of numerous legal articles as well as the legal publications “California Personal Injury Forms” and “Thumbprint Guides” focused on California personal injury law. With over 25 years of experience as a trial attorney, James is an expert in numerous litigation matters.
