Messner Reeves LLP Sponsors Patrick Surtain’s PS2 Experience 2025

Messner Reeves LLP was proud to sponsor the PS2 Experience: A Night of Cars & Couture on June 2, 2025 to benefit the Patrick Surtain II’s Inspiration Rooms and Give2Inspire Dreams grant program for teachers.

Managing Partner and COO Michelle Harden is on the board of the Patrick Surtain II Foundation. Attending the event on behalf of the firm were President Jim Smith and his wife Pam, along with Partner Bruce Montoya and his wife Ruth.

The foundation, created in 2023 by Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II, aims to level the playing field for students in financially disadvantaged communities by providing vital resources to ensure their success. The Give2Inspire Dreams Grant Program supports middle and high school teachers through financial grants for technology, educational tools and other resources to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

As COO and Managing Partner of the firm, Michelle Harden maintains a very active litigation and trial practice, frequently representing health care providers in matters involving the Colorado Medical Board, the Board of Nursing, and other credentialing entities, and represents these providers in administrative law hearings. Her background as a nurse gives her the expertise to advise and counsel clients from a broader perspective. She has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including 5280 Magazine Top Lawyers, Super Lawyers and US News & World Report Best Lawyers, and has maintained the AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell since 2014.

Partner Bruce Montoya has over 40 years of experience as a trial attorney, and specializes in high exposure, personal injury, commercial and class-action cases while spearheading the growth and success of the Firm’s award-winning litigation practice. Bruce is a member of many prestigious organizations where admission is limited to the most elite trial lawyers invited by their peers for inclusion. He has been an active member of the International Society of Barristers (ISOB) since 2002, a member of American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 2006, and in 2022 was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL), among many other prestigious distinctions.

At the helm of Messner Reeves, President Jim Smith oversees all business operations and is committed to fostering the entrepreneurial culture the Firm has become known for. His leadership promotes our attorneys and all staff members to provide the best legal service for all clients, while also focusing on making positive impacts in our surrounding communities.
