Edgar Carranza, Partner
Edgar Carranza joined us as a partner on October 3, 2022. He has over 25 years of experience as an attorney in several areas of law. At Messner Reeves, he will primarily focus his practice on healthcare and medical malpractice defense. Edgar earned a J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law.
Megan Wessel, Associate
We welcomed new associate attorney Megan Wessel on October 17, 2022. She has seven years of legal practice, mostly defending personal injury cases, including complex litigation and trials. Megan will be working alongside Renee Finch and new hire Edgar Carranza and looks forward to the mentorship their knowledge and experience bring.
She is a 2015 J.D. graduate of the Chapman University of Law in California. She is licensed to practice law in both Nevada and California. After graduation, Megan moved back to Nevada, where she enjoys playing co-ed soccer on the weekends and spending her free time with her boyfriend and two dogs.
Jonathan Owens, Partner
On October 24, 2022, we welcomed Jonathan Owens as a partner attorney. His area of practice will be personal injury defense, including complex litigation and trials. Joining him from his previous firm are partner Karie Wilson and associates Tiffanie Bittle, and Ashely Walters.
Jonathan is a University of Utah graduate, earning his J.D. in 1999. After graduation, he moved to Nevada, where he has been practicing law for nearly 23 years. Jonathan has two French bulldogs; an eight-year-old male and a two-year-old female. In addition to spending his free time with his dogs, he enjoys Jiu-Jitsu training, a hobby he has invested four years into as he continues to learn something new each time. Jonathan also enjoys cooking new recipes.
Karie Wilson, Partner
Karie Wilson joined our Las Vegas office as a partner on October 24, 2022. Here she will focus her practice on civil litigation, mainly cases concerning transportation, product liability, and premise liability matters. She is a 2001 J.D. graduate of the California Western School of Law.
Karie has three Labrador retriever mixes; two black and one chocolate. She enjoys walking, hiking with her dogs, and traveling in her free time. The Northern Lights was one of the most beautiful sites she had seen while traveling recently.
Ashley Walter, Associate
Messer Reeves welcomed associate attorney Ashley Walter on October 24, 2022. She will work alongside Karie Wilson and Tiffanie Bittle, focusing on personal injury defense and civil defense litigation matters.
Ashley earned her J.D. in 2022 from the University of San Diego. She recently passed the bar exam and was sworn in just a few weeks ago in Nevada. Congratulations, Ashley!
She is a native Californian, growing up in San Diego as the youngest of three children. Ashely enjoys spending her free time with her two-year-old mini labradoodle. She also loves anything related to Disney, and her favorite Disney movie is Peter Pan.
Tiffanie Bittle, Associate
As an associate attorney, Tiffanie Bittle also joined Messner Reeves on October 24, 2022. She will work with Karie Wilson’s team, focusing her practice on personal injury defense.
Tiffanie graduated cum laude in 2019 with a J.D. from Pepperdine School of Law. Here she also earned certificates in dispute resolution and international law. She has called seven countries and four U.S. states home during her lifetime. After graduating and passing the bar, Tiffanie gifted herself with a dog, now seven-year-old Matilda, a Yorkshire terrier mix. Tiffanie and Matilda have called Nevada home for the past three years.
