Messner Reeves LLP proudly announces a complete defense decision and success on its counterclaims following a weeklong construction arbitration in Denver, Colorado.
Denver Partners Adam Royval and Michelle Harden, with the assistance of Denver Partner Darren Alberti and paralegal Katherine Martinez, arbitrated a highly-contentious construction case against an aggressive claimant on behalf of their general contractor client.
Messner Reeves’ client was owed for unpaid work and asserted a mechanics lien. The home claimant forced the client into arbitration and sought exorbitant damages on the basis that Messner Reeves’ client underperformed and delayed the project.
The hard-fought arbitration took far longer than expected, and involved exceptionally detailed testimony and evidence consisting of tens of thousands of pages of documentation. Following closings, the arbitrator completely rejected the claimant’s theory and found in favor of Messner Reeves’ client in all respects.
Adam Royval has over 500 cases under his belt as a seasoned litigator and attorney. He practices in the Denver and Phoenix offices, and focuses on commercial litigation, construction, insurance defense, labor & employment, general litigation, and personal injury.
COO and Managing Partner Michelle Harden has extensive experience defending catastrophic injury and multi-district, multi-plaintiff personal injury cases. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her legal expertise and professionalism, and has maintained the AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell since 2014.
Darren Alberti specializes in appellate and complex litigation, developing argument strategies and appellate briefs in both federal and state appellate courts across multiple jurisdictions. He has worked on complex litigation matters across a wide range of industry and practice areas, including construction law.
