The Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Orange Count Messner Reeves Offices Each Announce a Newly Hired Attorney

At Messner Reeves, we measure growth and success in many ways, including by our new hires. We are pleased to share that our offices in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Orange County welcomed new hires in October.

Erica Deatherage, Partner (Phoenix)

On October 3, 2022, our Phoenix office welcomed partner attorney Erica Deatherage. She will join Caleb Meyer’s team, focusing her practice on insurance defense litigation.

Erica graduated with a J.D. from Arizona Summit Law School in 2012. She is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and Arizona.

Andrew Welch, Partner (Salt Lake City)

Andrew Welch joined our Salt Lake City office as a partner on October 5, 2022. He is a seasoned litigator with expertise in several areas of law, including transactional law. Andrew is on Torben Welch and Jake Brigham’s team, where he will focus his practice on litigation and building Messner Reeves’s presence in the great state of Utah.

He earned his J.D. in 2011 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He enjoys spending his free time snowboarding on the beautiful mountainous peaks of Salt Lake City and Park City.

Rebecca Spence, Associate (Denver)

Associate attorney Rebecca Spence joined our Denver office on October 24, 2022. She will primarily focus her practice on corporate, real estate, and water law. In addition, she will work closely with the Denver and Greenwood Village real estate teams.

Rebecca attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, earning a J.D. in 2019. Rebecca enjoys instructing yoga and learning new yoga skills in her free time. She also loves spending time with her dog, Pearlsnap, and her four chickens, aka “The Breakfast Club.”

Victoria Silcox, Partner (Orange County)

Victoria Silcox joined our Orange County office as our newest partner on October 31, 2022. She is a seasoned litigator with more than 25 years of experience practicing law. Victoria will work on Andy Hollin’s team, focusing on defending personal injury matters and civil defense litigation.

After growing up in Indiana, Texas, and California, she attended Whittier Law School in Los Angeles. Upon graduating with her J.D., she briefly practiced law in New York State before settling back in California. She and her husband enjoy the company of their two dogs; Bob, a terrier mix, and Zoey, a dachshund mix.
